Title: Common Causes Author: E.K Bradshaw Rating: PG-13 Pairing: Jack/Assad Warnings: Vaguely slashy. Hand-touching. If you're Vulcan, this may offend. XD Summary: Set sometime during Day 6, Jack and Assad stake out an old warehouse believed to be Fayed's hideout. Assad has a bad idea -- and Jack has seen more than his fair share of bad ideas. Originally written for a now-defunct fic challenge and dedicated to rekindle959. Merry Christmas, dear! XD I know this isn't QUITE what you wanted, but I tried. LOL. Disclaimer: 24 and the characters depicted herein are, unfortunately, not mine, and are reserved under their respective copyrights and/or trademarks. Keifer Sutherland and Alexander Siddig also belong to themselves. This is a work of fiction, for entertaiment purposes only. No profit is being made. ( What is necessary is not always pleasant. )Yaaay. :D Jassad = my happy place. Now it's onto writing football!fic. XD Is it bad that I've a plot bunny revolving around the semi-cracked premise of Urban Meyer finding a stuffed baby elephant on his desk (along with a sign reading "KNOW YOUR ENEMY") and not knowing who put it there? Call it the elephant in the room. I have no idea. Tim Tebow's a hell of a drug. AIGHT, I'M OUT. Peace, --EKB Tags: 24, holiday, jassad, requests mood: cold

Here I am, back from the general insanity that is the holidays. Or at least, you know, one. It's all downhill from here, from what I understand. The past few days have been a whirlwind of WAY too much holiday cheer. Or something. IDEK, my brain is dead, Jim. Dead. All in all, though, Christmas was good. ^^ I baked peppermint brownies, which were the shit, and we had a nice dinner on Christmas. I got some pretty nifty gifts, too. From my mom, I got a new digital camera, some turbie-twists, a black gold necklace, and a personal electric muscle stim unit. Which, believe me, is far more awesome than it sounds. When I'd injured my back and was going to physical therapy every day, the part I felt helped the most was the electric stim. Mom just thought it was funny that I got somewhat addicted to being zapped. So that should be good times. From my uncle, I got a handmade ceramic coffee mug with my name engraved on it, made by an artist in Athens. It's veyr pretty. And from myself, I got a Bama hoodie and 2009 SEC championship T-shirt, the book 'Pirate Latitudes,' and a knockoff Snuggie. It is AMAZING. Today, went visiting relatives which was, in all honesty, exhausting. We went to my aunt and uncle's early on and had lunch, hung out for a while, and then it was off to my cousin's to see him, his wife, and their 5 kids. My favorite part was the dog. Also, we were 20 miles from the UGA campus, which is further into Bulldog territory than I would have preferred to have been. I was wearing my Alabama hoodie all day, and it was hysterical both times we got out at rest stops. My mom was really funny about it, too. XD We went into this one country gas station, and there were a bunch of people waiting in line for the bathroom. They took one look at me and were like "O___o;;;." Me: Hey, mom, I didn't realize we were like, 20 miles from the GA campus. I thought I felt a little shudder go through my subconscious. Mom: Me too. Things that make you go, "BUHHHUHUH. *shudder*" ALL RIGHT, LET'S ROLL. :D I LOL'd pretty damn hard. XD The most exhausting thing of all, though, wasn't driving around all day, or even all the way out to Athens. It wasn't visiting with family (I did well, didn't get asked about my profession or romantic status ONCE) which is, you know, usually arduous. No, friends. The drive home was the worst. The holiday traffic on the interstate coming back was HELLACIOUS. Really, really did not want. It was dark, and there were wrecks, traffic was bumper-to-bumper, and all kinds of people were acting a fool out there. I think at one point, I called my friend and was like "HEY, HEY, JUST TALK TO ME. I FEEL LIKE I'M IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OF A MOVING CASKET RIGHT NOW." Good times. It took forever to get home. We got back around 7:00. Eight hours of driving, visiting, driving, visiting, and driving some more. Gah. I'm done, kids. With things as crazy as they have been, I'm looking forward to the lull that comes after New Year's. Don't expect me to be doing much after that if I can help it. XD SPEAKING OF NEW YEAR'S. The Sugar Bowl is coming up. Florida vs. Cincinatti, and my bet's on Florida. Also, for historical significance, this will be the last game Tim Tebow will play for the University of Florida. Since they say what you're doing on New Year's Day is what you'll be doing all year, I guess that means I'll be sleeping late and watching football with my BFF Kristen. Not that I'd mind. I doubt the sleeping late thing is going to happen. XD I can wish, I suppose. UGGHHHH. Dreading work tomorrow. I've really enjoyed three days off, and they went by too quickly. FML. I guess the worst thing about the holidays is the reality check you get when they're over. XD Bummer. Hope everyone had a good Christmas. Still working on the three holiday requests I owe people. Then I'm embarking on a project of my own that I'm sure no one will read, but dammit, it'll make ME happy. Live long and prosper, kids. --EKB location: Home mood: exhausted music: Justin Timberlake: "Cry Me a River"

MERRY CHRISTMAS I'M IN AMERICA AGAIN. AND I STARTED WRITING BASEBALL FIC. wtf. IT'S DUMB. LIKE, 'WTF AM I DOING' DUMB. And yet, I write it. idk. Went and saw Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva twice, and also saw the Nodame Cantabile live action movie. (I didn't realize it was a two part movie~ What a horrendous ploy to get me to go to the movies again in April! The only thing I'm glad America doesn't do.) BOTH WERE AWESOME. Geeked about Arashi with kimi_no_tsuki ♥ She took me to the Johnny's shop omfg. I bought 5 million pictures of MatsuJun. Because he's hot (and I'm a ho) Then geeked about Layton with maskalade ♥ It was awesome (I want that Claire fic you wrote for the exchange, btw~) Generally did geeky things all around. Mostly only took pictures of Disneyland (I watched Legend of Mytica properly this time, it made me cry so ridiculously much. Your shows, Tokyo Disney, wtf.) Made the mistake of taking a nap yesterday and thus couldn't sleep last night HARHARRRRR~ AS FOR PRESENTS: Harry and David truffles (I'M IN HEAVEN, HOLY GOD.) New pajamas! (just in time for a con~) New slippers! TRAUMA CENTER DS. AAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA fuck I'm supposed to be playing Layton 4Having insane amounts of fun times with Trauma Center so far. (Even if I can't save this stupid kid with his crazy abdomen lacerations that I can't keep up with) But geez I need Angie telling me what to do at all times. They keep putting her in danger and I go "DON'T KILL MY ASSISTANT, I FAIL AS A DOCTOR WITHOUT HER DDDDD:" Made ravioli for dinner, of course. I need to do some weight lifting before next Christmas or something, I fail as an Italian as far as kneading dough goes. Work tomorrow *sooooob* SLEEPING NOW. (after I stare at my pictures of MatsuJun again for a second...)Tags: arashi, i'm a dork, japan, professor layton, trauma center, video games mood: sleepy
